Women didn't always have the rights they have today. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects women from the kinds of discrimination they faced in the 1800s and early 1900s. Today, women have the same rights as men. This is because of the action women made to improve society. Women began to work for social reform and groups were created to make a difference.
